Healthy living and exercise programmes

The Fono coordinates fitness, exercise and nutrition services for Pacific church and community groups in West Auckland. Services are free and open to anyone living in the Waitemata DHB area wanting to participate.

The Enua Ola project aims to increase levels of physical activity and improve nutrition, using a community action approach. It is a time for communities to come together and support each other to make lifestyle changes in a comfortable social environment.

Includes:

  • Group exercise / physical activity session delivered by a qualified physical activity trainer, such as zumba, walking, water walking, dancing and aerobics
  • 4 Nutrition education sessions are held per year (delivered by a nutrition tutor who holds the AUT Certificate in Pacific Nutrition)
