Ready Steady Quit Stop Smoking Service


Thinking about stopping smoking? That’s great. It’s good for your health, your wallet, and your family. But most importantly, it’s great for you.

Stopping smoking is one of the hardest but the best decisions you can make. The Fono can support you in your journey to stop smoking.

Our free Ready Steady Quit service is focused around you and includes face-to-face sessions with trained professionals who can help you make it through.

Four week programme

With individual or group support sessions.

Nicotine Replacement

Nicotine gum, lozenges, or patches.

When you decide you're ready to stop smoking, many people will be on hand to help. Alongside our professionals, remember it’s okay to ask your friends, whānau, doctor, midwife or anyone else for extra support to help you succeed.

Access this service

You can get free support. Our service is open to anyone who wants to stop smoking in the Auckland and Waitemata District Health Board regions. So if you live, work, learn or play in North, West or Central Auckland, you can get free stop smoking support with us.

There are lots of different ways to access the service. Anyone wanting to stop smoking, or anyone supporting someone to quit like a fanau member, friend, Fono GP/Doctor, church group etc, can contact the service:

Locations available

The service is being delivered from a range of sites throughout the Auckland and Waitemata regions, including Fono clinics and community-based locations. The service can also come to you, so if you’re doing one-to-one coaching, it might be easiest for your coach to meet you at home, talk on the phone, or meet at a public venue such as a café.
