Whanau Ora

Whanau Ora is about building the capability and capacity of Pacific families by supporting them to achieve their aspirations in health, housing, education, training and economic development.

Whanau Ora is an inclusive approach to providing services and opportunities to families. Working in partnership with families, it empowers them as a whole, rather than focusing separately on the individual and their problems.

The Fono’s Whanau Ora Navigator and the family work together to complete a comprehensive assessment and identify their needs. Together they develop a plan to assist, meet current needs and plan for future needs (particularly financial), while providing access to The Fono’s wrap-around services and referral to other services where needed.

Support provided by The Fono

  • Assisted to meet some of the costs in the plan through Whanau Ora
