Fiugalu Tevita Funaki
Born in Auckland and raised in Tonga during his youth, Tevita completed his education in Dunedin obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce at Otago University.
Experience and specialist areas:
Prior to joining The Fono in July 2010 as CEO, Tevita was the Pacific Health Manager for ProCare Health Ltd and the National Pasifika Liaison Advisor for Massey University.
Currently, Tevita is the Chairman of ProCare’s Health (PHO) Limited Board and Director of the Co-operative Board representing Pacific interests. He is also Chairman of Oceania Career Academy, Ministry of Social Development Pacific Governance Group and Unitec Fono Faufautua. Trustee of Foundation North and Moana Pasifika Community Trust, and Director of ProCare Network (Co-op) Ltd. He is also a member of the Police Commissioner National Pacific Forum and Waitemata District Commander Pacific Advisory Group.
Tevita has established networks and relationships with our Pasifika communities across New Zealand in particular our Auckland Pasifika communities. He has a strong commitment to the wellbeing and prosperity of our Pasifika peoples
