Cosmetic dentistry gives you the extra sparkle and confidence you want in a smile by improving the look and function of your teeth. Common cosmetic dental treatments include whitening, veneers, crowns, and bridges.

What to expect

Teeth whitening is a popular and easy option to brighten your teeth. You can do 'in the chair' whitening during your lunch break or do it yourself with a take-home kit. Before you can go ahead with the whitening, you'll need to see your dentist for an initial examination to check your gums, teeth health and sensitivity.

Composite veneers can be completed in one 60-90 minute visit. Your dentist will form the veneer on your tooth out of composite (tooth-coloured filling material).

Porcelain veneers are harder wearing and longer lasting than composite veneers and give you a natural look for your smile, but are more expensive. These take two visits with your dentist. The first visit is to prepare the tooth, and can take up to 90 mins. In the second visit, two weeks later, your dentist will cement the veneer in place. This visit can take 45-60 minute.

Crowns and Bridges also require two visits. The first visit is to prepare the teeth and the second visit, two weeks later, to cement the bridge or crown in place.

Our dentists may recommend whitening before any crowns, bridges or veneers are placed on any teeth visible when you smile to ensure we match your natural tooth colour.
