Dr Ainsleigh Laumatia
The second Samoan community representative to join The Fono Board, Ainsleigh draws strength and inspiration from her ancestral roots in Sapapali'i, Sa'anapu, Tanugamanono, and Saleimoa. With a deep understanding of the health challenges faced by her own family, she was driven to pursue a career in healthcare, where she could create positive change and improve health outcomes for Pacific communities.
Ainsleigh holds a double medical degree from the University of Auckland (2017) and a Master of Public Health (2023). She is currently undertaking Specialist training in Public Health Medicine.
With a strong focus on Pacific health equity, workforce development, and food security, she also serves on the Kaibosh board, supporting vulnerable populations and addressing food insecurity. Her previous leadership in Pasifika Students in New Zealand (PaSHNZ) had a lasting impact, by empowering Pacific youth to succeed and reach their full potential.
Ainsleigh brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, cultural understanding, and community connection to our Board, inspired by her personal experiences and a desire to positively impact the health outcomes of Pacific peoples.
