Active Living Team Leader
About the Role
The Fono is looking for a passionate and experienced Active Living Team Leader to drive the coordination, development, and delivery of lifestyle services and programmes that promote physical activity, nutrition, and wellbeing for Pacific families. This role is pivotal in leading the Enua Ola contract and staff, supporting breast and bowel screening initiatives, and managing community-based fitness instructors to ensure high-quality, culturally relevant services.
You will also play a key role in connecting with the Diabetes Fight Club project, building partnerships with community gyms, and supporting families to overcome barriers to healthy living. With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, you will help expand the reach of The Fono’s services across Auckland and Northland, while also championing wellness in the workplace.
About You
- A tertiary qualification in public health, management or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in community building or health promotion.
- Proven leadership and staff supervision skills
- Strong community engagement and partnership development experience
- A genuine commitment to Pacific health equity and culturally grounded care
