Dental Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for stabilising and growing The Fono’s Dental Services through the development and delivery of a Dental Services Business and Development Plan aligned to The Fono’s strategic priorities.

You will work closely with clinicians, practice teams, Marketing & Communications, and external partners to ensure the service delivers:

  • High-quality, patient-centred dental care
  • Strong financial performance and sustainability
  • An excellent patient and staff experience

Following an initial development phase (approximately 9–12 months), the role may evolve based on service outcomes and growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic planning, development, and performance of Dental Services
  • Drive financial sustainability, revenue growth, and cost control
  • Oversee operational performance, utilisation, and service quality
  • Build strong relationships with funders, partners, and community stakeholders
  • Lead business development, marketing initiatives, and service innovation
  • Provide regular, high-quality reporting on performance, risks, and opportunities
  • Support people leadership and workforce planning in partnership with practice leadership

About you

You’re a confident, values-driven leader with a strong track record in managing and growing health or service-based operations. You’re equally comfortable talking strategy, analysing financial performance, and working alongside clinical and operational teams.

You will bring:

  • Proven senior management experience (health sector experience preferred)
  • Strong financial and commercial capability (budgeting, forecasting, reporting)
  • Experience leading service growth, improvement, or turnaround initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A collaborative, pragmatic, and solutions-focused leadership style
  • Alignment with The Fono’s commitment to equity and Pacific wellbeing
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent senior management experience is required.
