About the role

Oceania Career Academy (OCA) is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Tutor for Foundation Skills (‘AKE’) to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to engage with students at the start of their educational journey, helping them build the foundational skills and confidence they need to succeed in further education and their future careers.

About you

As a Tutor at OCA, you will design and deliver engaging curriculum content for Level 1 courses, utilizing innovative teaching methods that inspire and motivate students. You will also play a crucial role in providing pastoral support, guiding students through challenges, and celebrating their successes. Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to the broader OCA community, supporting our mission to create a culturally sensitive learning environment that reflects our commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi.

You will have:

• Proven background in teaching and mentoring with a focus on foundational skills and student engagement.
• Committed to fostering an inclusive and support learning environment that empowers students to achieve their educational and career goals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to connect effectively with students, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
• Ability to design curriculum and teaching strategies, utilizing a variety of pedagogical tools and technology to cater to diverse learning needs.
• Understanding and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly Pasifika, and commitment to upholding the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
