The title is a profound recognition of Nacanieli's close support and advisory role to the new Tui Nayau, Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara (Roko Ului), and his meticulous involvement in the installation preparations. The title Komailagiva consists of three components: "Komai" meaning Warrior, "Lagi" referring to the heavens or God, and "Va," which symbolises the number four, commemorating that the new Tui Nayau Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara fondly known as Roko Ului is the fourth Tui Nayau to be installed at Nayau Island.

The Tui Nayau holds one of Fiji's most prestigious ancient paramount chief titles, governing the Lau group. The previous titleholder, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, was Fiji's first Prime Minister post-independence and later President. His youngest son now carries forward this distinguished legacy.
