The Fono Wins First Time Entry Award for Excellence in Reporting
We're thrilled to share The Fono has been recognised with the “First Time Entry Award” at the 2025 New Zealand For Purpose Reporting Awards.
This award celebrates our 2024 Annual Report as more than just numbers on a page – it's our way of showing you, our whānau and communities, exactly how we're delivering on our promises. From our frontline teams providing essential healthcare to our back-office staff ensuring every dollar is used wisely, this recognition honours everyone who makes The Fono's mission possible.
"We are honoured to receive the First Time Entry Award, which is deeply meaningful for The Fono as a Pacific led charitable organisation," says Jennifer Tupou, our CFO/Director of Corporate Services. "Our annual report serves as more than a financial compliance document - it's our accountability tool demonstrating how effectively we deliver on strategic outcomes for our communities and stakeholders."
The awards, organised by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, celebrate organisations embracing transparency and innovation in how they communicate with their communities and stakeholders. As a Pacific-led organisation, we're especially proud our culturally grounded approach to reporting has been recognised alongside other incredible organisations across Aotearoa.
This award isn't just about us – it's about showing other Pacific organisations our voices, our stories, and our outcomes matter. We hope this recognition inspires more of our Pacific whānau to join us on this journey of excellence and accountability.
Fa'afetai tele lava to our entire Fono whānau who make this mahi possible every single day.
