Team Leader – Smokefree Services
About the role
We are looking for an experienced, culturally grounded Team Leader to join our Public Health Smokefree services team delivering the Smokefree programme to individuals and groups across Auckland.
In this full-time role (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends (our teams work Sundays too), you will lead, support, and mentor the passionate team of Quit coaches to deliver a streamlined programme with high levels of care and standards to Pacific smokers across Auckland.
You will work closely not only with the team but also with individuals and groups, leading programme sessions and helping build strong relationships based on cultural understanding and respect. This is an opportunity to work within a Pacific integrated model of care that values relationships, culture, family wellbeing, and early intervention.
What you will be doing
- Lead a passionate team to deliver streamlined Smokefree programmes with high levels of care and standards.
- Mentor, support and foster resilience within the Stop Smoking team.
- Workforce development of your team to enable the delivery of holistic and comprehensive care.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with The Fono clinical teams.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Promote smoke-free living through education and community support – the Stop Smoking Champion.
What we are looking for
- Proven leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of Pacific cultural approaches (highly valued).
- Ability to speak a Pacific language is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship management skills.
- Appreciation of addiction treatments.
- Suitable qualification (such as the NTS Stop Smoking Practitioner) in addition treatment.
- Excellent analysis and reporting capabilities.
- Full NZ Driver's Licence.
