Meet Christine Petersen: People and Culture at Heart

Christine Petersen started as The Fono's Human Resources Manager on 27 August, bringing a genuine passion for helping people thrive at work. 

Christine brings a wealth of experience in HR, conflict resolution, and business development. But what really sets her apart is her approach to creating workplaces where staff genuinely feel supported and valued, something that fits perfectly with The Fono's values of care and community. 

Her commitment to people goes well beyond her day job. Christine volunteers as a mediator coach for secondary school students and gives her time to Citizens Advice Bureau - work that shows her dedication to empowering people and strengthening communities. Outside of work you'll likely find Christine playing golf, tennis, or backgammon, exploring Aotearoa, or spending time with friends, family and her two children. 

This well-rounded approach to life and work makes Christine a great fit for The Fono's team of nearly 200 staff. Working across health, education, and community services throughout Auckland, she's focused on making sure every team member feels supported while helping the organisation stay true to its commitment to staff wellbeing and development.
